The Oliver Reed Appreciation Society

[mood |angryLIVID!]

Here is a website i found which captures some of tv and cinema's real greats and states their battle prowess in the form of character cards.

As you can see, it states that Mr. T has an unarmed skill of 10 whilst the fisticuffs titan that is Oliver Reed comes away with a meagre 6!
Now I can appreciate that Mr. T is built like a brick shithouse but his character on the A team was always portrayed as a gentle giant - someone who was mainly there for blind intimidation and witty one-liners rather than playing the role of the "hard nut". For god's sake, the man is afraid of planes! If Oliver Reed saw a plane do you think he'd be overcome with fear? no! he'd stagger right up to the thing, talk to it for a while, think he heard it insult him and then pummel the thing into scrap metal before it has a chance to get in a first jab!

Oliver's abilities as a helluva tough guy are obviously being criminally downplayed to make some of the less able cinematic greats look better. and you know what? it's just not on!

A bloody six!? well done for kicking a dead man while he's down, bastards

Man, I gotta tell ya...Mr.T is no more than a former bodyguard turned hack actor, but whom wouldn't even know the first thing about proper acting, even if some hollywood agent came up to him and offered him yet more gold chains.

Sure, he may be tough (maybe you'd have to be to carry that excessive amount of needless bling-bling without tipping over), but let's just see him get through even a six-pack of bud lite. And the only reason he's still mentioned today, is solely on the basis of his 80's icon status. And I can probably tell a few horror stories about this guy's swollen ego too.

Amen! Do you know I once saw an american kid's show featuring Mr. T. His job on the the show seemed to be to brainwash children into being disciplined, Ned Flanders-esque drones by spouting such verbal atrocities as "I pity the fool who choose a life of alcohol".
Now how can a man who bases his whole image on being tough and badass be such a flagrant supporter of pussyism!?

Anyway, let us speak no more of Mr. T; Oliver might be watching.
